History and culture
From the great tabaldi (baobab) trees of the west that also store water in their trunks; the fruit pulp (gongolez) is a treasured tonic.
Ingredients
- 1 cup baobab pulp (gongolez)
- Water
- Sugar, optional milk
How it is made
- Soak the pulp in water until it softens off the seeds.
- Stir and strain to a smooth drink.
- Sweeten; serve chilled, sometimes with milk.
