For too long, Sudan has been described by what happened to it. This archive describes what it is: the oldest pyramids on earth, two Niles braided into one river, a green volcano in the west, a coral citadel on the Red Sea — and a people whose welcome is legendary.
Every chapter is written in English and Sudanese Arabic, side by side. Nothing here is for sale. The only thing we ask is that you look — and then tell someone.
طويلاً ما وُصفَ السودانُ بما جرى له. هذا الأرشيفُ يصفُ ما هو: أقدمُ أهرامِ الأرض، ونيلانِ يضفرانِ نهراً واحداً، وبركانٌ أخضرُ في الغرب، وقلعةٌ مرجانيّةٌ على البحرِ الأحمر — وشعبٌ ترحيبُه أسطورة.
كلُّ فصلٍ مكتوبٌ بالإنجليزيّةِ والعربيّةِ السودانيّةِ جنباً إلى جنب. لا شيءَ هنا للبيع. كلُّ ما نطلبُه أن تنظر — ثمّ تُخبرَ أحداً.
Trop longtemps, le Soudan a été décrit par ce qui lui est arrivé. Cette archive décrit ce qu'il est : les plus anciennes pyramides du monde, deux Nils tressés en un fleuve, un volcan vert à l'ouest, une citadelle de corail sur la mer Rouge — et un peuple à l'accueil légendaire.
Chaque chapitre est écrit en anglais et en arabe soudanais, côte à côte. Rien ici n'est à vendre. Nous vous demandons seulement de regarder — puis d'en parler.
Durante demasiado tiempo, Sudán ha sido descrito por lo que le ocurrió. Este archivo describe lo que es: las pirámides más antiguas de la tierra, dos Nilos trenzados en un río, un volcán verde en el oeste, una ciudadela de coral en el mar Rojo — y un pueblo de hospitalidad legendaria.
